PROJECT STORYTELLING

The C4 journey for Team N was an exciting and challenging experience, but we managed to cope and develop the project plan smoothly. Our group’s original project question was focused on how online fitness opportunities can increase mental health and accessibility for youth. After various meetings with our partner throughout the first half of the semester, we decided to produce short videos for our social market advertising. However, there were some conflicting ideas and points of view between partners and our team members. After experiencing some unforeseen circumstances and points of conflict, our group arrived at a crossroads. Therefore, we held a meeting with the teaching team and decided at this crossroads. We decided it was best to handle our project independently as a group.

Our Approach 

Progession

During an emergency meeting, we were relieved to have received the teaching team’s support, and they were willing to provide us with flexibility in how to approach our new project. All members of our group hoped to build upon our initial project ideas that had emphasized health and exercise in youth communities. We decided to create a blueprint of a mental health course, and related this to social media. Through this, we have decided to create a blueprint for an educational mental health module designed for youth. Each of us brings talent, dedication, and skill to each of the sections in the blueprint. Angel as team leader is in charge of organizing the module and websites. Jinal provides tips on how to engage in teamwork and summarizes some useful tips for future students and teams, based on our experiences as a group.

The next section begins to introduce the connection between physical health and youths’ mental health, and how physical activity can provide benefits. They also research the impact of misunderstanding exercises on social media, and how these exercises actually apply to our minds. In section four Christian analyzes the methods to balance life and social pressures, and how to navigate everyday challenges and mental health. In the final section, Zuhal introduces the stress and technologies in our daily life that influence our minds and thoughts, and how to use social media more mindfully.

Our goal to create this blueprint is to share it with all students and teams who face similar situations, topics, or any other questions related to this project. Although we experienced some difficulties and pivots during our C4 journey, we would like to share with future C4 classes that sometimes achieving goals and dealing with challenges are feasible by taking a different path when you find yourself at a crossroad.
