Phase 3: Module

Towards the end of the second semester, our project took a huge pivot after a particular encounter with our partner. After this occurred, our group decided that it was best to respectfully end the partnership. Though we were passionate about our social media endeavours, we decided it was ideal that we took a new approach given that we no longer had a partner to work with.

Our group really wanted to find a way to implement our passions towards social media and mental health into a new deliverable that could help benefit youth. The teaching team had informed us that we could also share our experiences as a team as one of our deliverables, providing a learning experience to other C4 groups. After some extensive brainstorm and difficult decision-making, we decided to formulate an educational module! This module would be a document containing research backed topics on mental health, including how to navigate social media more mindfully, mental health improvement strategies, and how physical health can help improve mental health. Moreover, it would contain our project story and team work strategies we had learned through our challenging journey.

During this phase, our group members all conducted research on each of the topics to create module chapters. Each chapter contains a topic we are passionate about. To better accommodate and represent our project, we created two new project questions;

How has our C4 journey affected our project change and approach to mental health and well-being?

How can we promote mindfulness and mental health strategies to youth?

Our journey was an exciting but difficult one. It was not easy changing our plans or coming up with our deliverable. However, it was an exceptionally rewarding one! Our main goal through our module is to provide a valuable learning experience for future C4 groups who can learn from our team's experiences and strategies, and to members of youth who can find new ways to improve their mindfulness and mental health.
