C4 JOURNEY TIPS

The C4 program is a challenging yet incredible program that takes all students on an enlightening journey. The C4 journey begins when student groups are assigned a partner (business/company) to work with and are given a research question that they will aim to answer. From this moment forward, students will with their groups to gather research, create content, and work with their partners to create new, interesting concepts, while aiming to answer their research question. Likewise, within the C4 journey, students will have to think outside of the box, which may require external resources. However, the C4 classroom or lecture each week prepares students on how to fulfill additional requirements or resources that will aid their projects but ensures that all methods of gathering and researching information is done in the correct manner. Additionally, students are guided by the C4 teaching team year-round which warrants students to stay on track and make effectual progress towards their end goal.

However, a large part of the C4 journey is planning for the unexpected. Most teams will face issues that come up along their journey, which can range from small or large challenges that the team will have to face and overcome. By doing so, the team will learn how to face challenges head-on and allow their group to flawlessly handle the next challenge that arises. Regardless of if there is a challenge that needs to be overcome by the group, groups must remember to keep positive, open communication between group members. This way not only is everyone informed about current issues, but everyone has a chance to share their thoughts and opinions. Communication methods should also be extended to partners that the group is working with so that the partners understand what is happening and may help the group overcome unresolved complications. Having open communication within the group helps familiarizes members with each other and thus when issues arise it is much easier to discuss future steps. In times when groups are wedged trying to overcome a challenge, there are many things the groups can do to get back on track. It is advised that groups first have a meeting amongst themselves which allows groups to talk about the challenge, find resources that can help, and discuss how to tackle the challenge. At this point, groups can reach out to the C4 teaching team and their partners to keep them updated and ask for directions or suggestions that the team should consider. As the team is on their way to overcoming its obstacle, it is important to report back to the whole group with any updates. Hence, progressive conversations can be had, and intergroup conflicts can be avoided. These steps and suggestions were followed by Team N and while facing difficult challenges, they were able to quickly decide what to do next. Thus, this module collectively outlines research and information gathered by Team N that not only explains the C4 journey but showcases the amazing result of overcoming difficult challenges.

Altogether, C4 is a wonderful journey that comes with unexpected challenges. However, these challenges, as hard as they might be, help developed skills that can be taken into real life. Students, especially those of Team N, will learn how to successfully communicate with other people, work to overcome challenges, and implement quick effective decisions in their day-to-day lives. The following module was created as a result of Team N’s journey, which can optimistically be used to help prepare new C4 students.
